Intelligent, powerful, funny and true bad asses–I’m talking about all of the womyn in Disney’s recent film, Black Panther. If you haven’t watched the movie yet I hope you are planning on it ASAP! In honor of Womyn’s History Month and the debut of this ground breaking moment in entertainment, I have decided to dedicate my post to a character I admire most. Shuri is the mastermind behind Wakanda’s growing success in technology and innovation and has hella funny jokes up her sleeve. ChiChai@empire was also inspired by the female forces in Black Panther and created a portrait of Shuri that inspired today’s makeup look.
I had so much fun creating this look! I really appreciated how much effort the makeup team put into designing all the looks in the movie and making sure every fictional tribe was inspired by African culture. With Shuri’s ‘warrior’ facial make up I felt incredibly fierce, empowered and unapologetically beautiful. I most definitely will be doing more research on the Karo tribe and the Suri tribe in which these modern designs originate from.
*For this particular beauty post I will be sharing products I used and I encourage you to try it out and/or find inspiration from other strong womyn in your life!
