How To Rock Ultra Violet in 2018

by AnnGail@Empire

Happy new year, folks!

Pantone has announced Ultra Violet to be the Color of the Year. A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. ( I am so excited for this year and all of it’s adventures that await– especially creating and sharing more #BrownAnnBeautiful content with you all!

Ultra Violet embodies and encourages individuality–let 2018 be the year of experimentation and self expression. Here are two ways I experimented with the Pantone Color of the Year.

  1. Ultra Violet Eyeshadow; I utilized the color Buttery (soft cream) from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist Palette as an all over base. Dusty Rose (cool mauve) as a transition color in my crease and lastly, Punch Fuschia (bright violet fuschia) on my lid. Don’t forget to blend to eliminate any harsh lines. This look is perfect for date night or when you want to add a pop of color to your routine. Feel free to increase the intensity of the Violet as much as you want!

2. Ultra Violet Eyeliner; Get creative! I don’t own purple eyeliner so I opted for the next best (multi-purpose) thing: purple and fuchsia liquid lipstick. Here I used an E.L.F. eye liner brush to simply apply my Stila All Day Liquid lipsticks in Como (Bright Violet) and Chianti (Deep Plum) along my lash line to create this Ultra Violet cat eye. For those of you questioning the wear of liquid lipsticks on the eyes, don’t worry, when combining eyeshadow primer and a matte finish liquid lipstick, the longevity and wear time is great!

The possibilities are endless with incorporating such a stunning color. #empireintheair wants to encourage you to keep creating and share your #BrownAnnBeautiful looks with us on social media!
