Happy October and Happy Filipino American History Month!
This month is exciting for us because…
- It’s ChiChai’s birthday month 🙂
- We released our Fall Collection: Back to Basics (which you can now purchase!)
- This weekend we are celebrating Fil-Am History month at 2 special events!
Daly City has the most concentrated population of Filipinos in America. It is even joked that all the fog is caused by the rice cookers. In celebration of Fil-Am history month and the Filipino community we will be tabling at the Pacelli Event Center alongside other vendors. The event is open to the public from 11am-5pm. Here you can purchase your Back to Basics gear 🙂
Daly City Fil-Am History Month Celebration 2016
We invite you to come join us for our Filipino American History Month Celebration! Come by to learn more about the Filipino culture! We have food trucks to give you a taste of the Philippines! We have business vendors and non-profits wanting to share information, their talents and services with you! We have artist who want to inspire and share with you. We have live performances to get you out of your seat! We have a variety of performances! From traditional folk dancing to American influenced. Come join us!
But wait! If you cannot be in Daly City and plan to be in the South Bay, you can find us at the Ma”BOO”Hay talent showcase. Again we will be tabling alongside other vendors enjoying the sweet sounds of Ellona Santiago and more. This year, proceeds from the talent showcase will be donated to a familiar name…Project PEARLS. If you have yet to buy your ticket, you can purchase them at the door. The full headline can be found on the event page (link below).
Ma”BOO”Hay Talent Showcase
After 16 years, the Ma”BOO”hay Talent Showcase has been a terrific outlet for up-and-coming artists to hone their talents in front of a large audience that usually consists of a sold-out audience of more than 500 people. Our past headliners include Drop N’ Harmony, A.J. Rafael, a collaborative performance featuring Gabe Bondoc, Leejay Abucayan, and Jeremy “Passion” Manongdo, Ramielle Malubay, Kierra Folsom, and Jeff Bernat. This year, my vision for Ma”BOO”hay is to cultivate and reach out to the younger generations.
At the Door
General Admission $15
Meet & Greet Ellona: $20
All proceeds will be donated to Project PEARLS.

Filipino American History month is special for many reasons. We recognize the Filipino Americans who have served in WWII, the labor movement, OFWs and our everyday heroes. We celebrate the Filipino dreamers and believers who carried their empires to America and inspiring the youth to grow their own. Happy Filipino American History Month!
