Along the Coastline

Rather than the usual Southern California sun welcoming us to its land of palm trees, a gathering of fog took over the scenery. But, sun or no sun, this side of California certainly greeted us visitors.

My cousin Pamela and I traveled south to explore different beaches along the coastline with our Southern Californian cousin Leanne.

First stop: Venice Beach aka the land of Montagues vs Capulets (I’m hoping you watched Leonardo Dicaprio play Romeo before)

Leanne took us here to check out the Venice scene and haggle our way down its shopping strip.

She also showed us around the hot spots for Venice street art in which we also found…

After making a full lap down the main Venice street, we made our way to the Santa Monica Pier to enjoy the view from the best seat in the house.

We ended our day, not at the beach, but with seafood at Gardena’s Sumo Sushi. I normally font post anything regarding night life, however, our new sake bombing sushi chefs deserve a shout-out.

When you order sake bombs at Sushi Sumo, the sushi chefs party with you! They even have props to hype the countdown.

“When I say sake, you say bomb!”

And that concludes day one! Two beaches down, for more to go!
