Location Scouting

Our upcoming collection recently completed its design process and the next step is the lookbook.

One of the trickiest parts of producing the lookbook is location. We have to ask ourselves what is the collection’s message, how do we want to convey that message, and what environment will work best to do so. Then from that point, we have to ask ourselves even more questions; i.e. Will it be crowded that day? What time is best to go for this light? What is the weather like? etc.

Christopher and I embarked an adventure along Highway 1 this morning to find this collection’s unknown (or in better words, unplanned) destinations. We have the message in mind and an imagined portrayal but we still had to journey in search of that perfect spot.

We definitely found something today–

A mellow isolated beach enclosed by embracing cliffs whose faces were patterned by thousands of years of erosion. Its combination of greenery and shades of earth gives hints of its past that led to its beautiful today.

We definitely found something.
